Shannon is diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and the decision Shannon and Alex make together angers and shocks many of their family members and friends. Their three daughters, although devastated, accept their decision and follow through with their plans until the end.

With Shannon gone Alex is a now a single mother to their three teenage daughters. After a couple of years her friends convince her to go out on the town, this one night changes things, her life in a dramatic way. Enter Nicholas, a younger hunk of a man who is instantly attracted to Alex and sets out to show her.
The combustible chemistry between the lead characters wow is it hot! The main thing is that although, yes, they get on famously and are sexually very compatible, their situation is not an easy one. It’s easy to understand how disappointed Alexandra is with Nick when he doesn’t tell her from the beginning who he is however I felt she took it too far. Either she wanted him or she didn’t is what it boiled down to after a while.
Going into the BDSM lifestyle for the first time would be daunting but to be honest I really liked how the author handled this part of the story. The support given by the club members, especially the women, show another side that many other stories don’t pursue. The real life aspect of the situation not having a ‘quick fix’ is another positive. I also enjoyed the humour with Alex’s three daughters threatening Nick, a light comic relief at times but the message gets through never the less!

GM does it again with another amazing book. I devoured it as quickly as I could and I wasn't disappointed. The short story at the beginning “Shannon’s Silence” gives us the history of Alex and Shannon. Unbroken Fates is Alex moving on with her life and her story with Nick. Nick and Alex is an forbidden second chance love story and it was beautifully written. It grabs you from the very beginning. Alex is raising her three girls and trying to move on with her life, thinking that she won't ever love again, but hold on to your seats cause it gets steamy and delicious. Nick has loved Alex since he could remember, and now he has the chance of a lifetime. You have to read to find out what happens.
If you have read the Devils Iron MC Series you will see some friendly faces in this book, it's a nice surprise (you don't need to read the DIMC series to understand this book!!

When she meets Nick , he ignites a fire within her heart , body and soul that she thought was forever extinguished , but what happens when that flame quickly fizzles along with her heart , because he withheld the truth about whom he really is ??
This story without giving anything away was Heartbreaking and very emotional , in some parts ,Especially the Prequel provided within this book, but the Hot , Rocky Romance between Alex and Nick made the pages sizzle and my toes curl .
You felt them yearning for each other , but they are both so Stubborn and Scared of what others think that it will destroy them .
Is it fate that they be together or will they slip between each others grasps Forever.
I loved her girls , some of those parts were Hilarious , especially when they made sure their mom was treated right or else. They are tough as nails .
You also got a few surprise guests from her other novels weaved into the storyline which is always something I love .
Unbroken Fates is the conclusion to Shannon’s Silence and is book one in the Fates Reborn Series. I had read Shannon’s Silence, which was released as part of an anthology so I needed to read this to find out what happens to Shannon, Alex and their daughters. FYI Shannon’s Silence is included kind of like a prologue, in all its heartbreaking glory. Just like when I read Shannon’s Silence a few months ago, this time was no different. UGLY CRY!
"As we ready the house again for visitors we find ourselves stopping to hug and tell one another how much we love each other frequently. These last few weeks will be filled with lots of emotion and affection if these first few hours are any indication."
And there is this part where the author, GM Scherbert, rips out your heart
"It is hard watching the love of my life go through this, I just don’t know if I am strong enough to do this and everyday I think about and question how I will go on."
Luckily, I have the courage and hopefulness that since Scherbert is such a great writer she will be able to mend my broken heart as well as Alex’s! And thankfully she does, with the introduction of Nicholas and a whole lot of hot sex, alpha males and dirty talking bikers! Plus a few words of wisdom that can be brought into real life
"You need to find that peace inside yourself, because if you are not right with yourself than there is no way you will be right with anything or anyone else."
I loved this story. Every single part of it. The way that Alex tries to move on after losing Shannon, the inclusion of one of my favorite motorcycle clubs, the potty mouthed teenagers, because really, when you read what those girls have to say it just works.
This story is not for those under 18 or those sensitive to dirty words, thoughts and actions. For the rest of us, it is a 5 star story!
