The long awaited second prequel of the Guardian series did not disappoint. While it is helpful to have read the first prequel "Messenger" I don't think it is absolutely neccessary. It's been awhile since I read "Messenger" and I wasn't lost when reading this book. Reading this prequel makes me want to reread the Guardian Trilogy over again as I reacquaint myself with the entire story now that I know the history of everyone involved. What I always love best is Eran and Magdalene's evolving relationship in the centuries and lives they've lived despite the rules set on Messengers and Guardian's behaviors toward each other. Magdalene is a Messenger who can fall to Earth, becoming human and delivering messages from the living to the dead. Eran is her Guardian who serves to protect her and follows her when she falls to Earth.That doesn't mean Magdalene is some helpless female always obeying Eran's orders, but very proactive in defending herself and her loved ones against the Fallen Ones who seek to destroy them. As much as Eran is always trying to protect Magdalene, they work together to achieve their goals. The ending of this story continues seamlessly into "Fallen" the first book of the Guardian Trilogy.Product details

Love them when is the next one coming out
It was fulfilling to read of Eran and Magdalene's multiple histories through Time. As it was alluded to in the original series, they shared many varying lifetimes together. I look forward to reading more of their journey.
Explains so many things in exciting detail. The lives of the other guardians is also explained and you understand their allegiance to Erin better
I have been a fan of Laury's for YEARS and I have waited for this book to come out since Messenger came out. And it's been a long wait. But boy, was it worth it! I started and couldn't put it down. It is by far her best work yet. It tied up so many loose ends and answered so many questions the original series left me with. Now it's just time to wait for the next book about Eran and Maggie, I can't wait to see where they go next!
This book series does not get enough credit or attention! I have read all 5 of the Guardian Trilogy books and would highly recommend all 5. This specific book did great on answering questions and tying up any loose ends. It also makes you want to reread the other books if you've already read them. These amazing books would turn into awesome movies!
Loved all of the books! Read them in about a week. I enjoyed Eran and Magdalenes love story and seeing it evolve in the books. I also loved being able to go back and see how it all started for them in the prequels. Great read!
I can not get enough of Maggie and Eran!! I loved learning all about how they came to be in New Orleans. All the tragedy,strife,heartache,and love just amazes me. I am so excited that the next book will also include Jamison and Jocelyn!! I truly loved the Residue series as well and am beyond excited to see it all come together! I knew once I finished the Residue series, that they would be intertwined, but I won't ruin the fun for you! You need to read these books... every single one of them!!!
